I read websites the way your customers do

About Alfie

You’ve looked at your own homepage so many times you can’t see it any more. That’s not a failing — it happens to everyone. You know what it means, so you read what you meant rather than what’s there.

I don’t have that problem with your site, and you don’t have it with mine. That’s the whole job.

What I actually do

I audit websites, I rewrite them, and I run the copy and the campaigns that point at them.

The audit is where it starts — five pillars, design, copy, SEO, trust and mobile, scored out of 100, with every finding evidenced by a screenshot of your own site. Most people stop there, and that’s fine.

The ones who don’t want the rewrite: copy built from research into what their customers actually say, not from what sounds professional. After that, some want me writing the ongoing content and running the ads that send people to it. That’s the order it goes in, and it only works in that order — there’s no point advertising at a page that doesn’t convert.

I’ve done this across more than 150 audits in 23 industries: trades, law, lettings, beauty, heating, construction. The industry changes. The problems barely do.

Why the audit is free

Because I think the next bit is worth paying for, and this is how I prove it.

The free audit tells you exactly what’s wrong and shows you the evidence. It’s genuinely good, and it’s genuinely free — no card, no trial that starts charging, no upsell call you have to sit through to get the report.

I’m confident that a fair number of people will read theirs, see the size of the problem, and want the £129 version that fixes it. That’s the whole business model. It works better than advertising at strangers, because you’ve watched me do the job before you’ve paid me anything.

And if you take the report to your own developer instead — that happens, and it’s a completely fine outcome. It’s yours either way.

What I believe

Most websites don’t fail because they’re ugly. They fail because they’re about the company instead of the customer, they take too long to load, and every button says “Contact Us”.

Nobody needs a rebrand. They need the first screen to answer the question the visitor arrived with.

And you should be able to check the work. Every finding in every report I write points at a specific element on a specific page, so you can go and look at it yourself. If I can’t show you, I don’t put it in.
